A Lesson from Birding - Build a Niche Store in 30 Minutes or Less
How many great ideas are costing you money in lost opportunities?
How many times have you had a great idea, and thought to yourself, “I should build a website for this, I could make a lot of money!” Probably lots, I know I have. We all have hundreds of great ideas that could be profitable if we only had the correct tools.
Several years ago, I had the idea to start a niche website for birding. I wanted to build it from scratch. I purchased a great book on PHP and My SQL and spent several months learning step by step about not only the programming language, but also about birding identification and the culture of keeping bird lists. At the time, there were only 2 sites I could find that had similar niches. One was difficult to use, and not very good looking, and the other was a university site with way too much detail to keep my interest.
I figured there would be others that wanted something that I was looking for, a way to track a personal birding list, sweet and simple.
I learned a lot, and actually produced a working website that tracks your birding outings, allows you to look up species, add them to your lists, etc, etc. But I never got beyond that. I never added graphics, logos, user interaction, monetization or additional value added features.
I still think that my original website could be a powerful niche market, but it sits dormant, on its domain, with me dutifully paying hosting fees every 3 months thinking that someday I’ll get back to it and finally finish it. That project was started over 3 years ago and still sits, costing me money and nagging in the back of my mind as an unfulfilled dream.
What if you could build a niche website in 30 minutes or less and have a functional store the same night?
Well I just started using such a product, and it really was set up and ready to go in less than 30 minutes. I’ve been workign with the site for about a week now…most of that time was looking for a great theme to use.
You can use the software “out of the box”, but the site that is created is a little plain looking, kind of like the default word press installation. I decided to go the extra mile and integrate it with a WordPress site to really create a powerful educational site as well as eBay affiliate store.
So the traffic is just starting to come, and hopefully some sales will as well.
I’ll keep you updated on the progress of using the software as I go.
Is Build a Niche Store worth it?
Well, I have yet to make my investment back, but the initial cash outlay is not bad, considering the amount of time that it saves you in creating a new site. Overall, I would say this is an outstanding value for the tools that you get, which includes a liscense to install it an as many websites as you want!
Check out the Build A Niche Store here, it costs $97. If you are still undecided, just keep checking in as I give you updates on the new store.

I agree Suzanne, the cost of not spending the $97 on BANs was really too much to lose. I recently started with BANs, yet to release a store, but I agree the possibilities and probabilities are limitless.
This is a must have script for beginning affiliates or professionals alike. Nice blog.
I have recently set up a niche site and I have the money to spend, but I don’t know yet. I certainly will keep checking to see how it is going for you. Thanks for being a guinea pig
