How to Drive Traffic to your BANS Store
I’ve written a lot on here about the 30 Day Challenge as well as Build a Niche Store. Naturally, combining what I’ve learned from each of my projects would make a lot of sense. So here’s what I did…
I had already created a Build a Niche Store that so far has earned me $4.74 in commision. I know, I’ve got a long way to go before I can retire, but it’s a start, and with minimal work trying to drive traffic to the site.
After starting the 30 Day Challenge, I plugged my first niche into the tools Ed Dale recommended, and to my dismay, my niche was predicted to be too competitive to do well by his criteria! Well, I already had the site set up, already bought a domain name and I was already posting articles to it and had roped in family members to contribute as well. It’s a topic I love, so I will probably keep it up regardless.
Last night I tried a few other phrases and lo-and-behold, I found a phrase that fits Ed Dale’s criteria for a good keyword phrase - low competition and moderately high searches for the #1 ranked position on Google for that search phrase.
So…I set up a free Web 2.0 “property” with the targeted keyword phrase in the title, and put up a few posts targeting that keyword phrase.
The next steps…
After I let the page site for a few days to “review” what I wrote, I’ll begin doing some social bookmarking of the site. Once the site hits Google’s engine and gets ranked, I’ll add in an affiliate link…for my own site! It’s not really an affiliate site, but the referrals will be to my ebay store. This has a lot of potential to bring organic search engine traffic to my “money site” (which has earned me $4.74) on a phrase with low competition.
I really like this approach as I can set up many sites with different keyword phrases and send them all to my auction site.
I’ll keep you posted on the results as I go along!

I’m very interested in what you come up with. As for myself, I’ve been working on various eBay store fronts, and trying to generate some non-PPC traffic as a learning experience.
Traffic has been low, but have been getting a few hits from Stumble, etc. What other social networks do you like to promote your sites on? I usually stay away from digg on store types sites, but see the appeal of digging a ‘article’ site where you have a store link, etc. Also, digg users are not the best for conversions.
Thanks!

I’m also trying to generate non PPC traffic. The better you can be at organic search results, the more profit you get from those conversions. I’m following the guidelines from the 30 day challenge, and using Digg, Stumble, Fave, Reddit, Propeller…seems like I’m missing one right now.
I joined a small group from the main 30DC website where we bookmark each others sites as well, which seems to help with initial indexing and rankings.
But once it gets ranked, it only stays high for organic search traffic if I continue to post new targeted keyword articles.
So in order to make money, you need to have a content site that converts well to your sales page.
Still trying to put it all together.
